Anti-Wrinkle injections are the UK’s number one method for treating facial wrinkles and lines. Botulinum toxin (prescription based medication) is skilfully injected into facial muscles causing them to relax and in turn softens facial lines and wrinkles. This is an effective way for both men and women to achieve a natural, younger look.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Through years of normal facial expression, the muscles of the face contract. This can create permanent wrinkles or lines in the face. You may be suitable for muscle relaxing medication that can be injected into the desired area to block certain chemical signals that causes muscle contraction. This will soften both fine and deeper wrinkles.

Anti-wrinkle treatments can benefit you if you wish to smooth fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck. We perform a thorough medical history during your consultation to make sure the treatment is safe and suitable for you.
Treatment is not suitable in patients who are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you are undergoing IVF treatment.
Once you are deemed suitable to have the treatment, the injections are given in clinic by a Doctor. Tiny amounts of the product will be injected directly into the muscles that are responsible for contraction using an ultra-fine needle. The injections are virtually painless, so no anaesthetic is needed, and they are completed in a couple of minutes.
There is minimal downtime with botulinum toxin injections, in fact, it is possible to have this treatment in a lunch break and return straight back to work.
The risk of side effects is also low. However, as with any injectable treatment, some clients may experience mild localised bruising, redness or swelling at the injection site. Thorough cleansing of the skin prior to treatment and careful placement of the injections by a skilled practitioner helps to ensure these risks are as minimal as possible.
There is no best age to start treatment, it is more often considered suitable when you being to notice wrinkles on the face that remain regardless of expression. When this happens, wrinkles are called “dynamic wrinkles” and become increasingly difficult to treat. Botox® works better when the wrinkles are static and are not yet deeply etched into the muscles.
Yes, Botulinum toxin has been used in medical practise for many years and has an excellent safety record. All our procedures are carried out by trained medical Doctors who are highly trained in injectable treatments.
Results are visible from 4 days to 2 weeks post-treatment and they last anywhere between 3-6 months. The effects of normal muscle action will gradually return, and the area will require re-treatment. However, over time the wrinkles will appear less severe.
Our doctors will take extra care to ensure you are well informed and will be provided with verbal and written aftercare information. The most common side effect is temporary bruising at the injection site.
Botox injections use a toxin called Botulinum toxin, this blocks the nerve signals that are responsible for sweating. Once injected, it will stop the sweat glands from producing too much sweat. The results usually last 4-6 months, where the areas will need to be retreated.
